Charlton Heston R.I.P.

039_33916.jpg

Academy Award winning film legend Charlton Heston died at his Beverly Hills home on Saturday night with Lydia, his wife of 64 years by his side. He was 84 years old.

He had been suffering from Alzheimer's Disease for many years.

Officials nor family are releasing the official cause of death at this time.

I'm sure there are few people who don't know his name or his impact, having stared in some of Tinsel Towns most famous movies, Heston was a legend among legends. While I didn't always agree with his politics, there is no denying the man's talent and his impact on Hollywood.

Rest in Peace.

An interruption

We interrupt your pop sucker browsing with this...

That's all.

Remake Frezy Continues...

johnnyfive.jpg

Dimension Films has acquired the rights to the classic 1986 film Short Circuit.

That's right, Number Five is coming back again.

Good news is that the original writers S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock are back to pen the remake so hopefully they'll keep the spirit of the original in tact.

Still, every time one of my favorite childhood movies is remade an angel dies.

ALADYGMA

The latest viral...something...on the net revolves around this video.

So what is it exactly?

Folks are quick to assume that it has something to do with JJ Abrams and Cloverfield. Others are saying its something more supernatural, possibly even Alien Abductions.

It's clearly some kind of poltergeist activity depicted in the video.

if you listen closely you can hear some kind of howl (which some say is the cloverfield monster). You can also hear a little girl screaming for her mommy. This, to me, sounds exactly like carolanne from the Poltergeist movies.

Could this be a viral campaign for a new Poltergeist movie? There has been some chatter about remaking or relaunching the series. If that is the case I'm uber excited.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what else turns up.

Oh...incidentally, the amygdala is the part of the brain that controls fear.

We're Here! We're Emo! Get Used To It!

emoemu.bmp

Apparently, Mexico is being plagued by vicious attacks on the countries population of Emo Kids prompting riot police to take to the streets.

But that's not the entire story. Now, the countries Emo folk are banding together and marching to protest the rash of attacks.

Apparently, being emo is equatable to being gay in Mexico which is not exactly accepted down there I guess and that is the reason people are attacking them.

Man some people in this world are just plain stupid. What's the point of attacking someone just because of how they dress?

Check out this video of the kids demonstrating.

Michael Stipe recently confirmed what everyone in the world already knew for about 20 years by coming out.

Now at last, we are told the truth about band mates Mike Mills and Peter Buck.

I have to say I'm shocked.

Box Office Results 3/14 - 3/16

horton_hears_a_who.jpg

Well, if I was going to the movies this weekend the movie I would have seen would have not been sold out.

The highly anticipated Doomsday, suffered a mediocre opening this weekend landing in at #7 pulling in only $4.7 million.

Never Back Down opened with an impressive $8.6 million for third. For a movie I've seen one commercial for in the past month and one with generally poor reviews, it certainly opened well.

Of course, the big movie this week and the #1 of the weekend with over $45 million was Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who!

Clickee for the complete top ten.

Flashback Movie of the Week - Dolls

51NE6AMRVVL._SS500_.jpg

This week I venture back into my 80's horror stack of DVDs for the delightful cheese-fest Dolls.

I remember watching this movie on a saturday afternoon on the channel 20 horror movie double feature. Ah memories.

Any movie about killer toys is bound to be brilliant fun and Dolls is certainly no exception.

It's a cornball, silly, gory movie from Stuart Gordon, the man behind Reanimator.

Its a pretty standard "people get stranded and stumble upon a creepy old house" story but despite the cheese factor its still an enjoyable watch.

Perfect for a midnight movie fest if you ask me.

Enjoy!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows X 2!

harry-potter-actors.jpg

Harry Potter fans will be glad to know that this final film in the series will be split into two movies.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One will be released in November 2010.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two will be released Summer 2011.

Producers say this is being done because they simply don't want to leave anything out of the final film.

In the meantime, fans can look forward to Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince which hits theaters this November.

And girls who like girls who like stuff!
